The Youngs Of Scotland Family Convention - Update
Recently the Clan Young Society / Youngs Of Scotland received a message from the Lord Lyon’s office indicating that the Lord Lyon “no longer has confidence that the Young Family is in a position to run a Family Convention in a way that would lead to a result that he could rely upon.” This decision was reached after reviewing the concerns expressed by the Clan Young Society / Youngs of Scotland in the United States. We have invested significant effort and time working with the various Youngs of Scotland organizations worldwide to select and have appointed a commander who would best represent Youngs on behalf of all the independent societies and groups. This goal became increasingly more challenging as the Canadian candidate for commander continued to place his personal interests above those of the entire group.
The Leadership Team of the Clan Young Society / Youngs Of Scotland is disappointed that the issues and concerns regarding the appointment of a commander for the Family of Scottish Youngs have not been resolved. We intend to continue our work to further strengthen relationships, and to foster global collaboration with all Youngs Of Scotland organizations to ensure a positive and equitable Young Family Convention in the future. In the meantime, we continue to dedicate ourselves to ensuring that the Clan Young Society / Youngs Of Scotland becomes the best it can be!

Who We Are:
This site represents "The Youngs of Scotland" and the "Clan Young Society" for the United States. It is the official site/source for communications and information of these organizations in the United States. There are other societies around the world representing those of the Surname of "Young", however these are independent groups, and are not directly affiliated with the "Youngs Of Scotland", or the "Clan Young Society" in the United States. Only www.youngsofscotland.com, or www.clanyoungsociety.com are the official United States websites. We do not use Facebook/Meta, and any Facebook pages/groups claiming to be "Youngs Of Scotland", or an official "branch" of the same, including international Facebook pages/groups are NOT part of our Society or the greater "Youngs Of Scotland"!

The Youngs Of Scotland (USA) and the Clan Young Society is the oldest, and largest Membership Society of those with the Surname of "Young", and its variants. Our Members hail from all over the world, and share a collective passion for our common Scottish Heritage & History! Edward A. Young III (b.1921 / d.2012)
The Honourable Court Of The Lord Lyon authorized Edward A. Young III to re-convene Clan Young as an Armigerous Clan. Edward A. Young III is therefore the Convener of Clan Young, and the Youngs Of Scotland (USA) in perpetuity. Assisting in the re-convening of Clan Young were Past Society Presidents Col. Gordon A. Young & Russell A. Smith. Please note that Edward A. Young III is the ONLY recognized Convenor of Clan Young!
