YOUNG FAMILY CONVENTION

Youngs of Scotland are in the early planning stages towards a Young Family Convention in 2028 or 2029 to select a Commander.

Dr Bruce Durie has been engaged as a consultant for the preparation and planning of the Family Convention.

Dr Bruce Durie’s conclusion on the Young of Auldbar and Young of Bailieborough 

research – “I now doubt there is a genealogical claim to Chiefship, and I believe there is 

insufficient evidence to determine Young of Bailieborough as a hereditary Chief line or 

to receive agreement from Lord Lyon.”
