About Us

Who We Are

Greetings

Greetings to all Youngs, their kin and friends. This site is a resource for members of our Youngs of Scotland societies and for those interested in researching their family history, promoting reunions, attending Scottish events, learning about their cultural heritage, visiting their homeland, and socialising with those of like minds.

There are four active societies today, in the UK, US, Canada, and Australia. To become a Full Member of our society you must fill out an application form found on the page for the country you mainly reside and submit it and any fees that group requires. Each group may have different fees, but once you are a member of one, you are considered a member of all. "Cuimhnich air na daoine o'n d'thainig thu" - Remember the people from where you came.

Our society was founded in 1987 by Edward A. Young III of Orlando, Florida and 20 other charter members. Since that time other national societies have been created with similar objectives.

AIMS & OBJECTIVES

  • To collect and preserve historical, literary, records, relics, and artifacts of Scottish Youngs and of Scotland.
  • To encourage the giving of aid and hospitality to members of our Society.
